ERUPTION
(2023)
Eruption was a collaborative project between me and a friend of mine for Team Fortress 2.
Eruption is set on a tropical island far away in the ocean.
The map features a unique design for every point
and it was even featured in competitive Highlander games!
I was tasked with working on the details for both of the
teams spawn rooms and most of the capture point B.
I also provided the map with a set of custom assets for
usage and wrote the general story behind it.
Most of the map details took alot of inspiration
from movies like James Bond and The Incredibles!.
Summer Camp
(2018)
Summer Camp was a project created by me for a Team Fortess 2 Mod, Slender Fortress.
its inspired by the “Friday the 13th“ movies and features Jason Vorhees as the main killer in the map.
Slender Fortress is based on Mark J. Hadley's "Slender: The Eight Pages", a freeware game. Much like the game your objective is to collect a predefined number of pages before being able to escape the map. Summer camp in particular features gas cans rather than pages and you need to get 8 of them.
It features a very open map with sport courts, several campsites, cabins and the main building.
The only way to properly play the map is by entering a server (or make your own) that utilizes the Slender Fortress plugin.
Metro
(2016)
Metro was my first published project into the steam workshop, i was still grasping the source engine and the understanding of design as a whole when i created this map.
Its a very simple Counter-Strike map where each side of the metro is symmetrical to provide balance for both teams. Indoor deathmatch map based around a (you guessed it!) metro in renovation
Skybound
(2017)
Skybound, my second published Counter-Strike map set in 3 floating islands using a community gamemode [35 HP].
It utilizes a very cartoony visual style and close quarter combat by forcing the players to only be able to use their knifes.Skybound was the first map to feature assets created by me!.
Police Station
(2018)
Police Station was created in 1 month as a hide n seek map for Counter-Strike as a fun side project for me and my friends to have some fun.
It offers a variety of hiding spots by placing several teleports and fake walls all across the map and its themed around a police station.
From the cells to the booking process players can have a fun experience of a famous cat and mouse game while traversing through a rundown police station.
Decay
(2016)
Decay was my first map created for Slender Fortress, a Team Fortress 2 mod.
Slender Fortress is based on Mark J. Hadley's "Slender: The Eight Pages", a freeware game. Much like the game your objective is to collect a predefined number of pages before being able to escape the map.Decay worked differently from the usual and it required players to grab a gas can and survive for 3 minutes before they could escape.
The theme of the map was heavily inspired by the Outlast game.
The only way to properly play the map
is by entering a server (or make your own)
that utilizes the Slender Fortress plugin.
Silo
(2019)
Silo is a TF2 detail entry created in less than 72H for the “TF2 Maps 72hr Jam!” in 2019.
Very simple entry of a Silo shaft using the very iconic Team Fortress 2 artsyle. This entry was also showcased 2 months later in the official “TF2 Maps Jam Showcase” alongside other creative works done by the community.
Hey! , im André Ribeiro, a Portuguese nerd that has been doing Level Design and 3D art as a hobby for almost 10 years!.
My journey into the world of 3D began with a childlike curiosity and fascination to how games were made.
SInce then i´ve created fun and unique maps in games like Counter-Strike , TF2 and L4D2, each with their own
unique theme and experience which helped me to gather different skillsets in various softwares as well as being able to adapt to different kinds of games.
I´m also very eager to work in a team or learn new stuff that will help me improve in a team enviroment and individually.
When I'm not immersed in Level Design, I enjoy exploring the latest trends in digital art, playing video games, listening to music or just enjoy some physical activity like football or boxing.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me and my work.
